It's been quite a while since I've posted in my journal.  Our family had a great summer vacation and all three of our kids are now in high school!  It's hard to believe Zach will be off to college in one year and Noah and Alexis are now freshmen in high school.  Time flies so fast and I just want to take in every moment I'm able to with our kids.

We had the wonderful opportunity to attend the San Diego Dystonia Medical Research Foundation's support group yesterday at the Alvarado Hospital.  Noah and Alexis's neurologist, Dr. Friedman, was speaking and sharing their story and others.  We had the privilege of being "special guests" and participated in a Q&A panel.  Dr. Friedman's presentation was full of information on the past, present and future of genomic medicine.  There were some great questions and our family was able to share some of our journey.  Alexis commented on how she felt like she was living a life, trapped in her own nightmare. I thought this was a wonderful illustration of what Dystonia can make you feel like and am certain that all of the Dystonia patients in the room could completely relate to that comment as well as others Alexis made.  It was a truly informative day and we are so thankful for Martha Murphy who heads up the San Diego area for DMRF.

We have lots of things coming up as well as lots of things that have happened.  I will be working on getting back into more regular postings to keep you updated.  For now, we appreciate your continued support, thoughts and prayers as we have a lot of opportunities coming up to get the word out about Dystonia and genomic medicine.
